The Freedom I Have Found in Being Honest

The Freedom I Have Found in Being Honest

I have found the absolute most freedom and joy from being honest.

TRULY HONEST. THOROUGHLY HONEST. TRANSPARENT.

And with that I have felt the pain that comes with being dishonest.

Then trying to right those very wrongs by being honest...

It would have been easier to just be honest, eh?

Being honest does not equal being an asshole.

Being honest is telling the truth.

& the cool thing about being honest is it lets others know they can be honest too.

Life got a METRIC TON easier for me when I chose to align myself with honesty.

It is having THE hard conversations.

It is letting those around you know where you haven’t been honest, honestly.

It has been a HUGE steppingstone for me towards living a more authentic life.

Maybe this is a lesson only a silly 20-year-old would have ever needed to learn.

However, I don't believe that to be true.

Life can be difficult. We are destined to make mistakes... Daily. Hopefully. (GROWTH!) I have now learnt to be honest about it. Life is tough when you have to live with the weight of lies on your shoulders. Lies are miserable.

& life is short, but life is long when you are miserable.

With honesty,

EB

Everyone suspects himself of at least one of the cardinal virtues, and this is mine: I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known.”
